Post Graduate Certificate

Teaching Nursing Post Graduate Certificate

Program Description

The Teaching Nursing Post Graduate Certificate is for students who hold a graduate degree in nursing, or who are currently enrolled in a graduate nursing program.  A post graduate certificate in Teaching Nursing will prepare students to teach entry level nursing students in community, hospital, clinical, and classroom settings.  For students who already hold a graduate degree, the certificate program is an ideal pathway to prepare to gain the skills and knowledge to become a nurse educator.

NOTE: If pursuing the Teaching Nursing Post Graduate Certificate concurrent with a graduate degree in the University of Utah College of Nursing, the Teaching Nursing Post Graduate Certificate will not be issued until the student has completed and graduated from the concurrent graduate program.

Length of Program

The Teaching Nursing Post Graduate Certificate can be completed in as little as two semesters.  The program includes two semesters of one-to-one mentoring by a master educator in the classroom setting and the clinical setting.
