Doctor of Nursing Practice

Nurse Midwifery & Women's Health

Program Description

This program is dedicated to educating health care professionals who will meet the health needs of geographically and ethnically diverse populations.

Today, few careers are more rewarding than becoming a nurse midwife (NMW) or women's health nurse practitioner (WHNP).

Nurse midwives and woman's health nurse practitioners provide women with primary healthcare before, during and after pregnancy. From issue-specific gynecological care to preventive and general healthcare, WHNPs and NMWs provide health services essential to women of all ages.

Career choices are plentiful for both NMWs and WHNPs. As part of a clinical practice, working independently, serving in a hospital environment or sharing their passion and knowledge through education, NMWs and WHNPs enrich communities with skills in and understanding of women's health.
