About Faculty Practices
Message from the Executive Director of Faculty Practice
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the University of Utah, College of Nursing Faculty Practice website.
The College of Nursing established faculty practices to meet the multiple missions of the University of Utah, foremost the clinical practice mission. Our faculty practices are working clinics that assist in meeting the health care needs of Utah residents. In addition to serving the health care needs of Utah families our faculty practice sites provide our faculty with:
- Opportunities to implement innovative models of advanced practice nursing
- Capacity to create unique environments for teaching and learning
- Opportunities to blend research and practice
- Opportunities for development and completion of special projects
- Ability to serve unique and diverse cultural, ethnic and socioeconomic populations and to assist our students in understanding these populations
- Opportunities for healthcare leadership development
- Opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary health care
Our faculty practices are very diverse and are an important component of our overall college programs. All faculty providers are credentialed and are listed as providers on the insurance contracts maintained by the University of Utah Medical group. All faculty practices sites are available for student learning experiences.
Please peruse each of our faculty practice areas to familiarize yourself with the many facets of Advanced Practice Nursing. We have many resources and are happy to be of service.
Sincerely,
Leissa Roberts, DNP, CNM
