Building for the Future of Nursing Education
In 2005, we began a three-year capital campaign—Building for the Future of Nursing Education. This campaign included raising funds to renovate and expand the College of Nursing building and create a new state-of-the-art Simulation Center.
The College of Nursing is now 38 years old and no longer meets the needs of the students and faculty. The building will be converted to electronic classrooms in this age of technology-based education. Upgrading teaching technology within the College of Nursing and support for faculty in acquiring new skills and equipment is essential for the future needs of nursing education. At the same time, the new Simulation Center will provide clinical simulation for students and professionals in the Health Sciences. Patient care quality and patient safety is assured if students have practice with technical procedures in this learning environment. The Simulation Center, located directly across from the Health Science Education Building, will be easily accessible and available to all nursing, medical and pharmaceutical students to practice in-patient care.
Naming opportunities are available for specific areas in the building and modules in the Simulation Center.
Please join in Building for the Future of Nursing Education by donating to the building and simulation fund. Naming opportunities still available.
